From Mitchell County Democratic Party Chair Doug Sudduth

The Mitchell Democratic Party is about people organizing, working together, respecting each other, welcoming any Democrat who wants to make something happen. Our purpose is to get Democrats elected at every level. The Democratic Women have often led the way and earn their motto: Democratic Women Are the Life of the Party. My challenge to you is: join, volunteer, participate, contribute, vote and get others to vote; if not you, then who, if not now, when?

Veterans and Military Families for Progress endorses Daniel Johnson for North Carolina's Tenth Congressional District

Veterans and Military Families for Progress ( http://www.vmfp.org/ ) enthusiastically and proudly endorses Daniel Johnson in the upcoming North Carolina Tenth Congressional District election.  Founded in 2005, VMFP is dedicated to ensuring that the rights and needs of veterans, active-duty service members (including national guard and reservists), and their families are understood by the American public, endorsed by our elected officials, and protected by legislation, regulation, and public policy initiatives.

McHenry Votes "No" to Bipartisan Housing Bill

Daniel Johnson, candidate for North Carolina's 10th Congressional District, rebuked Congressman Patrick McHenry's vote against a comprehensive, bipartisan response to the current mortgage crisis. The American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act (HR 3221) passed with support from Republicans and Democrats alike.

"While the subprime crisis arose due to the actions of irresponsible lenders and irresponsible borrowers, failure to act to stabilize the housing market affects all homeowners and drags down the entire economy," said Johnson.
